Admired for their wonderfully exotic style and rich variegation, these Alpinia Zerumbet Variegata tropicals - also known as the Variegated Ginger or Variegated Shellflower - are a beloved variety native to East/Southeast Asia, and more specifically Malaysia, China and Japan. Care for them is generally very straightforward as they love consistency, and once fully mature, they can produce some inspiring pink-white-yellow fragrant flowers, usually in the Summer months. Beyond this, they are also considered pet-friendly, air-purifying, and beneficial to mental health, so all sorts of people can enjoy their natural beauty and admire the benefits!

At Houseplant.co.uk, we want to ensure that you choose the perfect plant for your space. Here's how we measure our plants:
Plant Height:
Measured from the base of the nursery pot to the top of the plant, including the full length of the stem and foliage.
Pot Size:
Refers to the total width across the top of the pot.
Choosing the Right Size
To find the perfect fit, compare the diameter of your plant's grow pot to the opening diameter of your chosen decorative pot. Ensure the decorative pot is at least 1-3cm larger in diameter than the grow pot for easy insertion and removal.
Important Notes
- Plant sizes are approximate and include the depth of the plant pot and roots, not just the height from the top of the soil.
- If a specific plant size is not available, we may provide a larger plant at no additional cost to you.
- All of our plants, unless otherwise stated are supplied in a nursery pot with the exception of air plants or lucky bamboo or otherwise listed in the product description.
