Plant height measurement: How we measure the height of our houseplants from pot to top

At Houseplant.co.uk, we want to ensure that you choose the perfect plant for your space. Here's how we measure our plants:

Plant Height:

Measured from the base of the nursery pot to the top of the plant, including the full length of the stem and foliage.

Pot Size:

Refers to the total width across the top of the pot.

Choosing the Right Size

To find the perfect fit, compare the diameter of your plant's grow pot to the opening diameter of your chosen decorative pot. Ensure the decorative pot is at least 1-3cm larger in diameter than the grow pot for easy insertion and removal.

Important Notes

  • Plant sizes are approximate and include the depth of the plant pot and roots, not just the height from the top of the soil.
  • If a specific plant size is not available, we may provide a larger plant at no additional cost to you.

Pupukea is a spectacular plant when in flower. It is not unusual for the branching spikes to produce a prolific spray of fragrant lemon lime flowers with white tips which have a pleasing aroma of chocolate. Please note these orchids can have black spots on the leaves but are no cause for concern and spike count can vary naturally and seasonally.

Oncidium orchids require a little more water than moth orchids - needing the soil to be kept evenly moist, whilst allowing the top third of soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering over the winter whilst it is in it's dormancy period. Feed when showing active new leaf or bud growth. Avoid draughty spots.
