Plant height measurement: How we measure the height of our houseplants from pot to top

At Houseplant.co.uk, we want to ensure that you choose the perfect plant for your space. Here's how we measure our plants:

Plant Height:

Measured from the base of the nursery pot to the top of the plant, including the full length of the stem and foliage.

Pot Size:

Refers to the total width across the top of the pot.

Choosing the Right Size

To find the perfect fit, compare the diameter of your plant's grow pot to the opening diameter of your chosen decorative pot. Ensure the decorative pot is at least 1-3cm larger in diameter than the grow pot for easy insertion and removal.

Important Notes

  • Plant sizes are approximate and include the depth of the plant pot and roots, not just the height from the top of the soil.
  • If a specific plant size is not available, we may provide a larger plant at no additional cost to you.

The 'Sweet Silvio' Peace lily is a bushy foliage plant that is easy to care for and low-maintenance. They're an excellent indoor companion as they're very easy going and regularly reflower, producing slender white spathes that delicately sit proudly of the vivid green, sword shaped leaves.  Botanically known as Spathiphyllum, this sweet plant originates from Central America and makes a delightful gift that can flower multiple times per year, usually for a month or more during both Spring and Autumn with regular care!

Position your peace lily in a well lit spot to encourage multiple blooms. Your peace lily will tell you when it wants a good, thorough drink! The leaves and blooms will relax over - no panic! Give it a good watering whilst allowing the excess water to drain and it'll stand to attention within a few hours. A monthly feed during flowering season will encourage more new blooms to appear. Prune spent blooms and wipe the leaves to remove dust allowing the plant's pores to breathe.
