Plant height measurement: How we measure the height of our houseplants from pot to top

At Houseplant.co.uk, we want to ensure that you choose the perfect plant for your space. Here's how we measure our plants:

Plant Height:

Measured from the base of the nursery pot to the top of the plant, including the full length of the stem and foliage.

Pot Size:

Refers to the total width across the top of the pot.

Choosing the Right Size

To find the perfect fit, compare the diameter of your plant's grow pot to the opening diameter of your chosen decorative pot. Ensure the decorative pot is at least 1-3cm larger in diameter than the grow pot for easy insertion and removal.

Important Notes

  • Plant sizes are approximate and include the depth of the plant pot and roots, not just the height from the top of the soil.
  • If a specific plant size is not available, we may provide a larger plant at no additional cost to you.

Alocasia's are very adaptable plants and cope well in from low light through to bright but indirect light. If you'd like it to push out leaves more frequently position in a brighter spot. Even, consistent watering is best. Little and often rather than saturating the soil as they are prone to root rot.

    Very safely and compactly packaged and delivered quickly. All the packaging was recyclable as well which was nice (minus the cling film) Everything arrived very healthy and the soil was still reasonably moist after transport on all plants except 1.
