Plant height measurement: How we measure the height of our houseplants from pot to top

At Houseplant.co.uk, we want to ensure that you choose the perfect plant for your space. Here's how we measure our plants:

Plant Height:

Measured from the base of the nursery pot to the top of the plant, including the full length of the stem and foliage.

Pot Size:

Refers to the total width across the top of the pot.

Choosing the Right Size

To find the perfect fit, compare the diameter of your plant's grow pot to the opening diameter of your chosen decorative pot. Ensure the decorative pot is at least 1-3cm larger in diameter than the grow pot for easy insertion and removal.

Important Notes

  • Plant sizes are approximate and include the depth of the plant pot and roots, not just the height from the top of the soil.
  • If a specific plant size is not available, we may provide a larger plant at no additional cost to you.

These special Dryopteris plants are fascinating and enjoyable to care for! All you'll need to do is place them in a cosy spot with plenty of bright, indirect sunlight, moderate/high humidities and temperatures ranging from 15°C up to 30°C. A great rule of thumb for your Autumn Fern is to keep its soil evenly moist but not soggy but watering about once per week, using rainwater or distilled water where possible.

    Ordered x3 items,all came well protected and looked after,surviving the journey well. X2 we’re smaller than I expected but that’s my fault! X1 was much larger and had beautiful healthy flowers!look like they’re about ready to repot, with high quality soils and healthy looking roots. Would be perfect if there were some care cards (Ik you can look on the website but sometimes helpful to have a physical card!)
