At Houseplant.co.uk, we want to ensure that you choose the perfect plant for your space. Here's how we measure our plants:
Plant Height:
Measured from the base of the nursery pot to the top of the plant, including the full length of the stem and foliage.
Pot Size:
Refers to the total width across the top of the pot.
Choosing the Right Size
To find the perfect fit, compare the diameter of your plant's grow pot to the opening diameter of your chosen decorative pot. Ensure the decorative pot is at least 1-3cm larger in diameter than the grow pot for easy insertion and removal.
Important Notes
- Plant sizes are approximate and include the depth of the plant pot and roots, not just the height from the top of the soil.
- If a specific plant size is not available, we may provide a larger plant at no additional cost to you.

These stunning Monkey Jars 'Alata' plants - also known as Nepenthes 'Alata' are a fantastic carnivorous variety that can be enjoyed at home, in the office & beyond! Ideal for helping keep your spaces free of flies, they are pet safe and can even assist in purifying your air - so by caring for yours, it'll care for you too! Native to South East Asia, these fascinating tropicals use nectar to attract insects towards its pitchers, and their vibrant visual nature makes them excellent for adding a tropical decorative touch wherever they go. A superb variety if you're looking to try something new and rewarding and suitable for gifting, there's plenty to love with these Monkey Jar plants!
Please note decorative pots are sold separately and your Alata may or may not arrive with pitchers from the get-go depending on the time of year.

Have ordered from them before and I know that they arrive in excellent condition. In particular I have ordered carnivorous plants which have hollow tubes or jars. When I have ordered from other companies the tubes have arrived cracked and split leaving them unable to digest the bugs. I have never had this issue with this company and they always arrive in beautiful condition. The instructions received for care are excellent.
